CNY Calligraphy for Kids

Chinese New Year is soon upon us! We’re organising a CNY activity as a kids / families outreach. While we cannot have big gatherings, some families still value having small playdates from time to time. We encourage Watermark parents to invite a couple of non-Christian kids & their parents to their homes to write some CNY couplets calligraphy (春聯) and make lai see envelopes together.

PROGRAM

Cherry Wong, a Watermarker who recently renewed her passion for Chinese calligraphy, will lead us on Zoom for 20 mins. We will write a couple of regular CNY phrases and then several Christian ones. She and a couple of parents will then use that opportunity to talk about the Christian messages on God’s blessing, grace, joy, and love. After that, we will move on to making lai see envelopes. We don’t want to keep you too long online, so you can focus on your kids and their friends in your homes afterward. The Zoom session is a means to launch the activity and your conversations with your friends.
