Watermark Bible Reading Plan 2026

 

Time with God in his Word is such a key way to grow as a Christian, so let’s read the Bible together as a church! We will go back to basics this year, and with the plan available on the Life Bible app, it should be easier to keep up than ever before. Read on for details on what we will read and how to get our 2026 plan.

Weekdays: mainly New Testament

We want to make our reading plan accessible to all. Following feedback, we want to read easier books and shorter passages that are manageable for the busiest Watermarkers. It is better to read less and meditate more on what God is saying, than to read much but without processing. So this year we will primarily read from the New Testament, and at a slower pace than before, taking two years to cover the NT.

Weekends: Psalms

Most people like to have a change in the weekend. The weekend readings are from the Psalms, so that we read all of them across two years. Sometimes the reading is two psalms, sometimes one longer psalm. It is up to you whether you want to read this on Saturday or Sunday or spread across two days, or read something else entirely on the weekends.

 

 

Getting our plan

 

As usual, we have bookmarks, which you can pick up at church. There will be new ones every quarter. You can also print all of 2026 on one A4, using this PDF.

New: Life Bible App

Many people like to be able to read on the go and track progress on an app. The Life Bible app has kindly agreed to host our plan. Moreover, it allows for group reading which you can read together.

1. Downloading the app

2. Personal reading

If you want to read the plan on your own, rather than as part of a group, use the link here to import the plan. You should use the following settings:

  • Choose “Personal” rather than “Group plan”
  • Import as a 6 days/week plan (the default).
  • Set start date as 1 January, if you want to read along with the church’s schedule.

 

3. Group reading

You can read the plan as a group, to see each other’s progress and use the chat to share questions and comments. If you want to join an existing group (e.g. in your CG), the group host can give you a link to join.

If you want to start a new group:

  • Whoever will host the plan should use the link here to add the Watermark 2026 plan to their app.
    • Choose “Group plan” when adding.
    • Import it as 6 days/week plan (default)
    • If you want to keep up with the church’s schedule, set the start date as 1 January.            
  • The host is then given another link to have others join that specific group. Please share it with those who you want to read together with.
