Crossroads Foundation Excursion

We have a really meaningful and important opportunity coming up for our children and families, partnering with Crossroads Foundation. We will set aside Saturday morning (27 April) to expose our children to some of the realities of the suffering in our world. Most of us live a very comfortable and privileged life in Hong Kong, and as Christ followers, we are called to disciple our children to love and trust Christ above all else. However, when faced with so much excess in Hong Kong, the pull to love possessions, money and comfort above Christ is a real temptation.

What do we do about this? We want to help you think about this, start conversations and help equip you to disciple your children in this regard.

Will you prioritise half a day to join with us as we open our hearts to be challenged and to initiate conversations around what it looks like to identify with the poor and respond to Christ as He leads us? Maybe even setting aside a Saturday feels uncomfortable and inconvenient for you? Imagine having to set aside 20 hours, many of those in the hot baking sun, to wait for a small supply of water for your family. And then a long walk back home carrying the heavy load….

The Water Challenge: (Most suitable for children 4 – 11 years old, accompanied by parents)

This simulation brings to life the burden of gathering water shouldered by the 1.1 billion people who lack access to clean water, and invites participants to consider solutions to help address this issue. Cost is $120 per child. 

Trail of World Need: (12 years and older)

Family-friendly, interactive journey through issues like poverty, refugees and modern-day slavery. Set inside a series of shipping containers at the Crossroads Village, the trail helps young people and families, in small groups, to explore these big topics together and brainstorm how they can help others in need. Cost is $70 pp.
